The inside of the ring measured 1.53 inches, so some suppressors will fit inside the handguard. As you noted it is a big weight reduction and that reduction is on the FRONT of the gun. My gun balances much better now. That barrel nut you turned down, tap 4 screw holes in a cross pattern. Repeat this on the carbon fiber tube. Install barrel nut, gas tube, and gas block. Then put the tube on the barrel nut and line up the barrel nut holes to the tube holes and use appropriate sized screws to secure the tube to the nut.
It's fairly easy, just gotta make sure you get the barrel nut cranked on to the right spec, then all you need are the keys they include to get the trunnion lined up, tightened up, and the probably tap the handguard onto the trunnion and install the screws. Mine had a small bit of extra resin on the handguard which made it difficult to get off .... Pay bj
