Your gun looks way newer than 1953 overall, in any case. There's a 5 digit number just below the "Model 36" that you can see in the pic. A 15-8 would have a three-alpha, four numeric format serial number. Betting yours starts with either just a "K" or a single to a triple digit in front of a "K" followed by numbers.
